Know your rights when protesting – ACLU
Further recommendations from Democracy Spark
The right to join with fellow citizens in protest or peaceful assembly is critical to a functioning democracy. But it is also unfortunately true that governments and police can violate this right – through the use of mass arrests, illegal use of force, criminalization of protest, and other means intended to thwart free public expression.

NC legislation that restricts the right to peaceful assembly
The US Protest Law Tracker follows state and federal legislation introduced since January 2017 that restricts the right to peaceful assembly.
NC statutes regarding Riots, Civil Disorders, and Emergencies
A riot is a public disturbance involving an assemblage of three or more persons which by disorderly and violent conduct, or the imminent threat of disorderly and violent conduct, results in injury or damage to persons or property or creates a clear and present danger of injury or damage to persons or property

Know your rights near the border
The Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects people from random and arbitrary stops and searches. Although the federal government claims the power to conduct certain kinds of warrantless stops within 100 miles of the U.S. border, important Fourth Amendment protections still apply. This helps you understand your rights within the 100-mile border zone.
