Kristi Noem is in charge of FEMA. Michael Whatley was named the Helene recovery “czar” by Trump in January. Despite many promises, the actual funding received by North Carolina is about 10% of what was promised … and needed. Join us as we protest their arrival in North Carolina at the end of the month – not to aid in our recovery, but to further their own interests at the “Salt & Light” conference.

Friday 9/26 – Sunday 9/28, the North Carolina Faith & Freedom Foundation brings its 8th annual Salt & Light Conference to Marion, NC.
Billed as “the largest most influential faith-based policy conference in North Carolina” it will feature the following notable politicians:
- Congressman Mark Harris, NC08
- Michael Whatley, RNC Chairman and aspiring NC Senator
- Dave Boliek, NC State Auditor
- Kristi Noem, Secretary US Homeland Security
Please join us by signing for a shift to protest outside of the conference to show those attending that not all North Carolinians support the Christian Nationalist agenda promoted by this conference and the failed policies of the government officials who are attending.

Ideas:
Where’s Whatley? Designated the recovery czar for Helene by Trump, he’s been noticeably absent from NC since his appointment, and he certainly hasn’t done anything proactive to help.
Boliek has allowed Republicans to take powers historically held by the Governor and transfer them to the Auditor. Will Boliek uphold fair elections now that he is in charge of the Board of Elections? Actions to date do not bode well for November 2026.
Noem has failed on multiple fronts. Illegal detentions, ICE Raids, a stranglehold on FEMA funds, mistreatment of animals.
When you arrive for your shift, parking will be available on the right hand side of Barnes Road in the first lot. We are hoping for enough participants at each shift so that half can stand in the grass on either side of the entrance to Barnes Road on 221, and the other half can stand in the grass on either side of Barnes Road just before the Nebo Crossing parking lot (which is where their property begins.)
